In order to offer a choice of electricity suppliers to customers, all utilities are required to make customer data available to marketers certified by the State Corporation Commission (SCC) to sell electricity in Virginia. The data includes the customer's name, address and history of electricity usage. You are able to choose whether you wish to allow NOVEC to share that information. If you want this information released so marketers can contact you, the information can be accessed from NOVEC's computer system. If you do not want this information shared, you can "opt out" of having it shared. Customers who choose not to share that information with marketers will have several options for "opt out":
